After further consideration, the Outlook updates previously mentioned are not critical to proper calendar operation. We considered utilizing the Exchange Calendar Update Tool (MsExTmz.msi) and/or the Outlook Time Zone Data Update Tool (TZMove.exe) and concluded that neither of these tools would provide an overwhelming advantage in this effort. Regardless of the tools utitilized, in all cases, users must quality control (QC) their individual calendars.
The tools are available for use if we require them in the near future. So if any individual has an extremely full Outlook calendar during the affected time period and they don't believe they can "examine their calendars and rebook appointments as necessary" in a timely fashion, we have the ability to help them with the tools.
TZMove.exe is a tool that adjusts Microsoft Office Outlook calendar items when there has been a change in time zone definitions (saved in Microsoft Windows) or if the user is making a permanent move to another time zone.
